President Obama Signs Healthcare Reform

President Barack Obama signed healthcare reform into law on Monday morning. The President delivered remarks about the nation’s struggle for healthcare reform since the days of the Teddy Roosevelt administration one hundred years ago, and the immediate benefits of the legislation he was about to sign. House Passes Landmark Healthcare Reform

Culminating over a year’s debate, and 100 years of trying, the House passed landmark healthcare reform, 219-212, after several hours of floor debate and procedural motions made by House Republicans to slow the process. Healthcare reform heads to President Barack Obama’s desk for signature.
