San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) issued several fines yesterday.

The California Fair Political Practices Commission will vote Dec. 10 to approve more than $100,000 in fines against former state Controller Steve Westly for failing to report expenses and payments to contractors while he was running for governor in 2006. [...]

The commission also announced $20,000 in fines against Assemblyman Joel Anderson, R-San Diego, for accepting contributions in excess of campaign limits.

Anderson agreed to pay the fine for soliciting more than $45,000 from five people, which was funneled through the Fresno County Republican Central Committee.

The GOP committee was fined $29,000.
